Position description:

Role: Video Producer

Description: Brainstorm and produce creative video content for Wave’s students. Help students learn about opportunities in higher education and different careers, connect FGLI students with unique resources, and break down myths holding students back.

Eligibility: Junior in high school or above. College students and above are highly encouraged to apply. Experience producing videos of any kind. Excellent communication skills. Experience working with video editing software required, Adobe Premiere Pro experience preferred.

Nice to have: Your own video editing software, experience producing professional-looking videos, creative and artistic direction.

Time commitment: 4-6 hours/week

Supplement: Please link a video you’ve created or produced.

Role: Social Media Video Producer

Description: Design, record and post short videos on our social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok) on a weekly basis. Keep up with social media trends and how they can best be used to promote Wave LF’s initiatives. Work with the Social Media team on overarching Wave LF marketing strategy.

Eligibility: Junior in high school or above. College students and above are highly encouraged to apply. Experience managing and drafting content for various audiences. Excellent communication skills, reading & writing skills, and creative direction.

Nice to have: Experience creating short-form video content

Time commitment: 4-6 hours/week

Supplement: Please describe one proposal you have for a possible social media video or series for our account (@wavelearningfestival).

Role: Social Media Coordinator

Description: Brainstorm, write, and produce creative social media content to engage our audience. Write informative copy for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, & Twitter) on a weekly basis about our services. Keep up with social media trends and how they can best be used to promote Wave LF's initiatives. Help create overarching Wave LF marketing strategy.

Eligibility: Junior in high school or above. College students and above are highly encouraged to apply. Experience managing and drafting content for various audiences. Excellent communication skills, reading & writing skills, and creative direction.

Nice to have: Experience in marketing roles and social media

Time commitment: 4-6 hours/week

Supplement: Please describe one proposal you have for educational and/or fun Instagram content that can improve our reach (@wavelearningfestival).

Role: Blog Writer

Description: Conduct research and write content about relevant topics for Wave's Medium blog. Topics can be diverse, ranging from informational pieces (how to apply for financial aid, how to draft a resume, what different college majors look like, etc.) to personal (reflections, voices of diverse students, etc.). Maintain press releases and work with press outreach.

Eligibility: Junior in high school or above. College students and above are highly encouraged to apply. Ability to meet strict deadlines and participate in weekly meetings and brainstorm sessions.

Nice to have: Strong knowledge of English writing conventions. Prior writing experience (journalism and creative writing are recommended). Knowledge of SEO and content marketing strategies.

Time commitment: 4-6 hours/week

Supplement: Submit a link to a folder containing 2-3 samples of your best written work in any genre (blog and journalistic pieces preferred, if applicable). Make sure to edit the sharing permissions.

Role: Podcast Co-Anchor

Description: Produce podcast episodes with interesting guests. Source guests, brainstorm and coordinate questions/roadmaps for each episode, record, edit, and post episodes.

Eligibility: Junior in high school or above. College students and above are highly encouraged to apply. Good speaking skills.

Nice to have: Prior audio editing, writing, speaking, and/or podcast experience.

Time commitment: 3-5 hours/week

Supplement: Please name a podcast you enjoy and describe what elements make it compelling.
