Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must be registered as full-time senior undergraduates, graduate students, or postdoctoral fellows at an eligible Canadian or international institution and remain so throughout the Globalink Research Award. Postdoctoral fellows may apply if they graduated within five years of the proposed project start date and have postdoctoral status at an eligible institution. Applicants cannot undertake research at an institution where they previously completed a degree or in a country where they hold citizenship. Permanent residents or citizens of Canada studying in eligible countries outside Canada can apply for projects in Canada, while those enrolled in Canadian institutions and holding citizenship in an eligible country can apply to do a project there. Applicants must be the legal age of majority in Canada (18 or older) and meet travel and visa requirements. Only one Globalink Research Award can be held per academic lifetime, and applicants cannot have previously held a Mitacs-JSPS Summer Program award.
