Fifty years ago, the Society of Graduate Students at the University of Western Ontario established the Western Day Care Centre to address the need for nearby childcare. Operating as a non-profit childcare center since February 1972, it began in homes donated by the University at 1140 Western Road. Their mission is to foster children’s well-being by offering optimal conditions for growth, learning, and development.
