The Kingston Police Community Volunteers (KPCV) support the Kingston Police by volunteering hundreds of hours every year in a variety of roles that enhance policing services to the Kingston community. This excellent volunteer program has provided invaluable assistance to the citizens of Kingston since 1996. Over the years, volunteer members have located stolen vehicles and property, conducted searches for missing persons, alerted police to intoxicated drivers, assisted in searching for evidence at crime scenes, and gathered valuable data in areas of common community concern. In all of these instances, by providing direct support to uniformed officers, volunteers make it possible for officers to concentrate on their front-line tasks. The volunteers have also facilitated community outreach, by conducting child identification clinics, child car seat inspections, and station tours and by assisting with major events and parades.
