Position description:
- Kingston Community Health Centres relies on the active participation of citizens in the community for the operation of many of our programs and activities. We value community participation and are committed to working with residents and groups. Volunteer positions are designed to be creative, meaningful, and available to everyone. KCHC volunteers do a variety of things, including, but not limited to:
- Planning and running special community events
- Teaching gentle fitness classes
- Tutoring high school students
- Supporting newcomers
- Driving people to our programs
- Preparing snacks
- Provide Administrative Support
- Sitting on community advisory groups
- Teach Line Dancing
- Serving on our Board of Directors
- Assisting with group programs
- Delivering Good Food Boxes
- We welcome volunteers from all walks of life, age groups, cultures, abilities, and backgrounds, and we encourage community members to apply to volunteer. We gratefully acknowledge both the volunteers who contribute their time, energy and talents, and the staff who work with our volunteers.
- If you enter our volunteer program, you will meet with the volunteer program coordinator to share your interests, ideas, and skills and will be asked to fill out an application form and provide two references. You will be told about volunteer opportunities and how we place volunteers to positions that match their strengths and interests. We will give you a clear picture of the position and the training required to do it well and will support you in your volunteer role through regular contact, ongoing orientation, training and evaluation. We will give you the care and appreciation you deserve. If a match isn’t available, we will discuss other options in the community with you.
